We at Yankee Propane strive toward the goal of 0% out of gas calls.  We want our customers to have complete confidence that they will not run out of gas.

Therefore, during the Winter months we maintain a “Keep Full” policy for our heating customers.  We want to keep our customers warm regardless of any severe extended cold period, heavy snowfall, or nationwide shortage of propane.

Your delivery schedule is based on the size of your tank, what you use the gas for and what your past usage rate has been.

Cooking:
Every 3 or 4 months depending on your usage

Hot water & Cooking:
Approximately every 60 days

Heat, hot water & Cooking:
Approximately every 30 days from September thru May.  Occasionally, during severe cold weather, some customers may receive deliveries every 15 days.

Propane tends to follow the price of crude oil.  Supply and demand along with weather conditions also play an important role.  Colder temperatures during the winter months increase the demand for propane which reduces supplies and leads to higher prices.

We are trying to keep our expenses down by:

  • Increasing the efficiency of our deliveries.
  • Improving the productivity of our office personnel.
  • Maintaining our excellent safety record resulting in insurance cost savings.

Check if other gas appliances are working.  If they are call your HVAC service person.  If they are not working call Yankee Propane at 845-651-2662.

It is important to clear and de-ice your driveway to allow our truck to enter.  Also, it is important to clear a path to the tank and mark the location of an underground tank so our driver can access it.

Call Yankee Propane at 800-386-3835.  We will ask you for the following information:

  • Name, address and phone number
  • What appliances use the gas, for example:  furnace, clothes dryer.  The type of appliances help us determine what size tank we need to install to meet your needs.
  • What company is currently supplying you with propane?  We cannot fill a tank belonging to another company.
  • What size tank you have now and whether it is above ground or underground.
  • Are you the owner of the property or do you have a landlord?

We will then set up an installation date to hook up our tank(s), light your pilots and pressure test your system.

Since most tanks are owned by the propane companies themselves, we need to see a bill of sale for the tank or other proof of ownership before we can fill it.
